Our herbal tea product named “Bees Immunity Tea” is manufactured by the Life Care Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd Sri Lanka which is a renowned manufacturing unit approved by the Department of Ayurveda in Sri Lanka and certified with ISO 22000, HACCP and GMP.

Bees Immunity Tea is a blend of six Ayurvedic herbs. The traditional ayurvedic preparation method known as “Daruparpatadhi Churanaya” under the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medicinal Pharmacopoeia conducted at the Life Care Pharmaceuticals factory approved by the Department of Ayurveda in Sri Lanka.

  1. Snap Ginger / Heen Araththa – Alpinia calcarata

Alpinia calcarata is a rhizomatous perennial herb that belongs to the family Zingiberaceae. It is commonly used in traditional medicine in Sri Lanka. Heen Araththa is shown to possess antibacterial, antifungal, anthelmintic, antinociceptive, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, aphrodisiac, gastroprotective, and antidiabetic activities.  The rhizome is used for medicinal purposes and it is commonly treated for rheumatism, muscle pain, hoarseness of the voice, Catarrh, Anorexia and excessive sweating. Moreover, it is used as a remedy for colds, to increase appetite, facilitates digestion and treat sexual dysfunction.

  1. Calumba Wood / Weni wel –  Coscinium fenestratum

The use of Coscinium fenestratum as a source of the important ayurvedic raw drug daruharidra dates back to several centuries. Dried stem and root form the useful parts.  It can cure pain and itching disorders related to the eyes, ears, and oral cavity. It is used to treat diarrhoea, to relieve mensturation pain, abdomen pain. Moreover, it is used as a remedy for colds, can increase voice quality and eliminates throat infections. Its paste is used to treat systolic ulcers, fistula and skin diseases.

  1. Coriander / Koththamalli – Coriandrum sativum

Both the leaves and fruit (seeds) of coriander are used as food and medicine. Coriander is used for a long-term disorder of the large intestines that cause stomach pain (irritable bowel syndrome or IBS), constipation, diarrhoea, gas (flatulence), nausea and many other conditions such as cold and coughs, fevers, headaches, asthma, pains, swellings and urinary tract infections.  In foods, coriander is used as a culinary spice and to prevent food poisoning.

  1. Long Pepper / Thippili – Piper longum

The Piper longum fruit has been used in traditional medicine, including the Ayurvedic system of medicine. It is most commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, asthma, constipation, gonorrhoea, paralysis of the tongue, diarrhoea, cholera, chronic malaria, viral hepatitis, haemorrhoids, respiratory infections, stomachache, bronchitis, dropsy, diseases of the spleen, cough, colds, and tumours.

The ginger (Zingiber officinale) plant is native to Asia and has been used since ancient times in the prevention and treatment of many diseases. To date, several properties of ginger such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticoagulation activities and it is used to reduce pain, nausea, vomiting, coughs, colds, fevers and swellings, Moreover, it is used to treat dyspepsia, diarrhoea, dropsy, asthma, anorexia, rheumatism, aneamia and skin diseases.

  1. Holy Basil / Maduruthala – Ocimum tenuiflorum

Ocimum tenuiflorum belongs to Lamiaceae family, which posses various healing medicinal properties. Traditionally various parts like leaves, flowers and stems are being used in the treatment of various disorders such as skin diseases, cold, cough, fever, vomiting, swelling etc. Moreover, Holy Basil was reported to have anti-cancer, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and immuno-stimulatory properties.
